How does Sea Holly art make you feel?

Posted on November 6, 2022

How does Sea Holly art make you feel?  As you may already know from previous United Artspace course posts.  I’m working on the 7 keys.  This course is helping me to get my Psychedelic Voyager Art Collection ready to exhibit.  I have 7 chosen pieces of symmetry work out of over 100 pieces.  Now I need to answer some questions.  For each image I need help with the “How does this image make the viewer feel” question. This is where my social media friends come in.

West Witterings beach, West Sussex

The first original photo for Sea Holly was taken at West Wittering’s beach, I’d happened upon this alien looking plant whilst investigating the beautiful sand dunes on the coastline.  I had never seen Sea Holly in my life before.  I was excited at the prospect of this becoming an intricate piece of art.   The spikey leaves becoming the totem.  Sea Holly; I feel has a real sci fi theme.  The green teasel flowers where nothing like I had ever seen, some of them where a purply blue colour, with that colour then traveling up the stems.  I found the colours delicate.  The green of the leaves reminds me of scenes from the Matrix.  The Wachowski Brothers use a green hue in their film footage.  When Neo, Trinity and the other characters are in the matrix.  There is a blue hue when they are in the ‘real’ world.

I particularly like the central crest in the Sea Holly#1 , this looks like an alien brain, or egg, surrounded by a protective white diamond, this brain or egg is fed into by the super information highway, which is made up by the horizontal display of green & yellow grasses in the middle of the image.  Nature’s way of communications, much like the mycelium networks all around us.  Vertically there is a splash of burnt orange.   Which is where part of the plant had some die back, this brought an awareness of death, dying being a part of life.

So how do the other Sea Holly #2 & #3  art make you feel?  Please do leave a comment below.  Or check out my social media, Instagram or. Facebook

How does this art make you feel?

UNITED ARTSPACE

I’m working on the UNITED ARTSPACE 7 keys course, this course is helping me to get my Psychedelic Voyager Art Collection ready to exhibit.  I have 7 chosen pieces of symmetry work out of over 100 pieces.  Now I need to answer some questions about each image.  1 question I need help with is the; “How does this art make you feel” question. This is where my FacebookInstagram  & my website followers come in.

Rings of Power Elvish Stained Glass window crest.

The first chosen piece is Tree Temple; the original photo image for Tree Temple was taken at Preston Park. I then created the abstract symmetry art in photoshop that you see now.

I loved the complexity of the branches, the many shades of green, the way the light caught the colours in the tree and surrounding foliage. This highlighting some of the leaves that looked a blue green colour.  These blue/ green leaves would create a stained-glass window effect in the centre, creating a crest.  A spiritual sign, much like an Elvish window or shield symbol in Rings of Power or Lord of the Rings.   Most of all I was inspired by the tree’s natural stance, leaning towards the available light, the same principles of photography, using light for exposure.  It fascinates me when tree’s reach like this, throwing its branches out to the side, like dreadlocks in the wind, finding the sunshine.

Please do leave comments below or on my Facebook or Instagram.

So how does this image make you feel? I would really appreciate anything that comes to mind. I’ve put some zoomed in sections of this image to look at, because to really appreciate the grandness of Tree Temple, you need to see it at its full size.
