Psychedelic Voyager Art Collection – Coleus Cube May 2020

Psychedelic Voyager Art Collection – Coleus Cube was inspired when I was hanging out with a guy who had just started to explore the world of house plants.  Amongst the Spider plants and Monstera, he also grew some Coleus from seeds.  They took  a while to pop into life and were almost too small to see, the tiny plants grew slowly for a while and then burst in to action.

The Coleus plant ended up being a monster Coleus bush, it looked like a small red alien tree. . . Flaming curvy leaves with bright green edging.   The Coleus was visually stunning, a real eye opener and a great start at growing plants from seed.

I took many photos of this delightful plant and enjoyed playing around with the images after in photoshop, the reds and greens so striking.  I feel like the finished psychedelic art is ready to be folded into a cube, or has the chaos of an opened duo colour Rubix Cube.

The guy was also into geometry so the Coleus Cube seemed to be the perfect name for this stunning plant  turned into a psychedelic creation

So, I am back again with that question: “how does this art “Icy Henge – Mouth Mantra” make the viewer feel”?

This next piece is a bit more earthy than the other Psychedelic Voyager pieces.

The original photo of Icy Henge was taken up at the Dew Pond.  The Pond is located near Hollingbury Hillfort / castle and sits overlooking Wild Park.  I love having an early morning wonder with my Dog, Sookie.  We often end up at the Dew Pond.

This particular morning was cold, with a frost.  A nice crisp fresh early morning walk. To my excitement, when we arrived at the Dew pond, there was an outer crust of ice, all along the edge of the pond.  The ice reminded me of teeth poking out from muddy gums, or ice Quarts standing stones, from a techno Stone Henge.

Once I created the symmetry art, the Icy Henge did become very Techno in the centre crest.  I feel it looks like some futuristic music speaker, pumping Bjork’s music into the festival boundaries of the Quarts Standing Stones. If I were to liken this image to any music it would be Bjork’s, Mouths Cradle. From her voice only album Medulla.

So, how does this art “Icy Henge” make the viewer feel? I would really appreciate any feedback here, or via my social media feeds, like Facebook or Instagram.  Any feedback will be graciously received.

Formal or informal!

Asha said she love’s this dress style, I can wear it for a formal do, or whilst out skating.

Personally, I will be wearing my Grass is Greener #1 dress when photographing a wedding, or when out at a live music event. Formal or Informal!  Great for many occasions. I reckon these dresses would make fab Brides Maid dresses too.

Asha was totally up for doing a mini modelling shoot with me at the weekend, I’m so grateful.   She looks so stunning in her Psychedelic Voyager dress, she’s so photogenic!  This mini shoot means, I can carry on updating my Etsy photos. Its great to be getting away from the augmented reality images.  Having real people modelling their Psychedelic Voyager dress purchases, is a real bonus.

What a cracking event Sonic Rock Solstice 16th June 2022 was.  I had spotted the incredible line up on the Sonic Rock Solstice Facebook event and was instantly excited.  I knew I had to get to this event and take some photos. You can see a few of my photos below.

The fact that a band called “Tentacles of Static” were playing, I guessed that this would be something to do with Eat Static & Orzric Tentacles.  And indeed, it was. Tentacles of Static are a blend of both Ozrics & Eat Static.  This was the first live performance of the Tentacles and the first time Ed & Merv had collaborated live on stage in a very long time.

So here is image no 3. From my Psychedelic Voyager Art Collection, I’m working on the United Artspace 7 keys course,  the who does Echium Pink Fountain #3 make the viewer feel? this course is helping me to get my Psychedelic Voyager Art Collection ready to exhibit.  I have 7 chosen pieces of symmetry work out of over 100 pieces.  Now I need to answer some questions about each image and needed help with the “How does this image make the viewer feel” question. This is where my social media friends come in. I really appreciate all the feedback so far; your views really help me see my work from different eyes.

Echium Pink Fountain

This image is a real favourite of mine.  I spotted this magnificent plant in St Matthias church yard, Fiveways.  I didn’t have my pro camera with me, so I had to take photographs with my Android, Samsung S10.  This Echium Pink Fountain monster bloom was around 10 feet tall at a guess, they can get up to 14 feet!  They flower in their 2^nd or even 3^rd year of growth.  Its blossoms are a bee magnet.  I particularly love the Filaments (Stamen) in the centre of the flowers, they remind me of delicate pink cartoon spiders, crawling out the centre Ovary of the flowers.  Their Anther’s look like the spiders have tiny white slippers on.

Healing.

This Art is symbolic for me in a healing sense, I got married at St Matthias church, that marriage landed me homeless, abused and in refuge with 3 very young children.  The women’s Refuge Project, as it was called then; now known as R.I.S.E. helped me turn my life around. When I was in refuge, my bedroom walls were pink.  Pink is now my happy colour.

So, you see when I saw this enormous spike of delicate pink flowers in the very same church yard I got married in, it reminded how different and safe that life has become, and that wound has been healed.

Mid-century – 70’s retro room, or a statement wall?.

The Psychedelic Voyager Art Collection  wallpapers are not only Kitsch, but they are also mid-century and have a 70’s retro look.  Get your hands on these incredible interior design wallpapers; there are 4 designs available at the moment, more coming soon.  which could be used for hair salon’s, or a beauty boutique. They would be wonderful as festival décor.  I would be really delighted to see the wallpapers on backdrops, especially for live music events, like psytrance parties.  Perhaps the wallpaper could be used for an art installation; this would be really exciting to see.  Finally how about having an Avant-garde pub or club decorated with Psychedelic Voyager Art?  Maybe you just want a statement wall? The possibilities are vast.
